Tom Pernice Jr. WITB 2024 gives you the scoop on the preferred golf clubs and career details of the seasoned PGA Tour Champions player.

Tom’s career has been successful as early as college days, when he was awarded as the two-time All-American and the Pac-10 Player of the Year in 1981. This was playing with college teammates who are pretty big names themselves, like Corey Pavin, Steve Pate, and Duffy Waldorf. Tom later turned pro in 1983, which led to 13 combined tour wins to date.

One of the things I most liked about Tom was that he offered to show me each of his clubs himself. Usually, the caddies tend to go through the bag for us, so this was a pleasant surprise. Let’s see what this tour veteran is carrying his bag these days.

Tom Pernice Jr. utilizes a Tour Edge Exotics C Proto Driver with a 9 degree loft and a Ventus Fujikura 6X shaft.

While you won’t be able to likely find this pro version, Tour Edge Exotics line up has some other excellent choices. The average mid handicap golfer would benefit from E Series that provides more forgiveness for straighter shots.

Tom Pernice Jr – Irons

Titleist Forged T100 Irons

4 Iron – 9 Iron

Tom has used Titleist for his irons for decades. As far back as I could find, Tom has been hitting Titleist Irons. Prior generations he used include the Titleist 714 AP2 and Titleist 718AP2. So it’s no surprise to see he is currently using the Titlest T100 (4-9).

The Titleist T-100 forged irons have dual-cavity construction are designed for low handicappers providing a more solid feel and enhanced workability.

46 & 58 Degree

Continuing with the Titleist irons theme, Tom Pernice Jr also sticks with Vokey wedge like he’s done in the past. It appears he added a degree of loft to each club making them a 47° and 59°.

While Titleist has released the SM10, I’ve noticed quite a few other players, like Steve Alker and Steve Stricker still using the SM9 as well as the SM8.

Additionally, when we did a study of the clubs on the PGA Tour and Tour Champions, Vokey wedges remain at the top of the list. We found that 48% of players used Titleist wedges in 2023.
