Cullen Links Golf Club – Cullen, Scotland

Located on Scotland’s Moray Firth coast, Cullen Links is an Old Tom Morris design from 1870 and the “Shortest True Links in the world.” It’s one of 260 True Links courses worldwide, with 90 in Scotland.
Featuring sandy soil and Red Sandstone Rocks, Cullen offers a one-of-a-kind golfing experience, with the original 9-hole layout still showcased in the clubhouse.
Fees: A round of golf is very affordable, ranging from £15 to £45 depending on the season, and the water views are spectacular!

River Valley Golf Club – St. Marys, Canada

Just 30 minutes outside Stratford, River Valley Golf Club is often called southwestern Ontario’s hidden gem.

Walker Course at Clemson – Clemson, SC

Clemson’s renowned John E. Walker Sr. Golf Course is an 18-hole championship course in Clemson, South Carolina.
Designed by DJ DeVictor, the Walker Course is often praised for its impeccable upkeep, with many considering it one of the best-maintained courses they’ve played. Even better, it’s affordable for most!
Fees: Costs range from $25 to $65 for seniors

Silloth on Solway Golf Club – Silloth, Wigton, Cumbria UK

Offering outstanding links golf, Solway Golf Club is home to the par-3 “The Manx,” a 130-yard challenge often compared to Royal Troon’s famous Postage Stamp.
Established in 1892, the course was originally designed by David Grant, with Willie Park Junior making adjustments between 1898 and 1902 to improve playability.
Even though it’s a bit of a hike to get there, it’s considered one of the best-value golfing experiences in the British Isles.
Fees: £55.00 to £95.00 depending on day/season

Druids Glen Golf Resort – Co. Wicklow, Ireland

Druids Glen is often called the “Augusta of Europe” due to its beauty and challenging play. With water hazards on 7 of the last 9 holes, it’s a test for any golfer.
Druid Heath, their second course, was once home to the Irish PGA Championship, which winds through quarries, trees, lakes, and pot bunkers. With breathtaking views of the Irish Sea and the rare heathland terrain, it’s a truly unforgettable golfing experience.

Patrick shares, “Taking a caddie is a must—one of the greens is an acre in size, requiring a hundred-foot putt or more. Even in the fairway when you hit what you might consider a perfect shot, there are blind shots and what you perceive to be perfect can end up in the right or left rough.”
